What's in the iluminr simulation template library?

Short answer

The iluminr simulation template library holds scenario-based exercises covering cyber attacks, AI risk, third-party failure, natural hazards, physical security, conduct and geopolitical events. Run any scenario as a Microsimulation, scale it up to a full-scale simulation, or have our team of experts facilitate it for you. Run them on demand, customize them for your team, or create your own with the iluminr builder.

What do customers say about our scenarios?

Jack Henry offices

When resilience becomes a regular cadence instead of a big-bang exercise, you stop drowning in action items and start identifying the trends, themes, and enterprise gaps that actually matter.

AXA colleagues reviewing a plan together

I am delighted to see the hard work and foresight shown by iluminr helping risk and resilience teams meet regulatory requirements but also to focus on the human element of response – identifying blind spots, enhancing decision making under pressure … and connecting the participants to the scenario.

Colm GaytonOperational Resilience Manager, AXA Ireland

Hand on heart, I would never go back to full desktop scenarios. We can run these so quickly every month. I would never go back.

Run on demand

Launch any Microsimulation in the library whenever your team needs it, from a single rep to a full team exercise.

Customize for your team

Adapt a library scenario to your own plans, roles, critical services and terminology, so the practice reflects how your organization actually responds.

Create your own

Use the iluminr iluminr builder to design new scenarios from scratch, with your own injects, objectives, information board and task board.

What threats does the library cover?

Each is built around a severe-but-plausible event and the decisions it forces.

How is a Microsimulation built?

Every Microsimulation in the library follows the same structure, so results are comparable across teams and over time.

  1. Scenario briefA short description of the critical event and why it matters.
  2. ObjectivesTwo or three learning objectives, such as validating roles, delegated authorities and first actions.
  3. Information boardFacts as they emerge, so participants work from the same picture.
  4. Event task boardThe tasks the team must complete, tied to your plans and playbooks.
  5. InjectsVideo and other updates that escalate the event in real time.
  6. Learning loopFeedback on every decision, and a record of what was decided and why.
